The vast past and the narrow tomorrow

So just let my rant begin.
This is perhaps my favourite topic ever: people say the past was better than the present.
Ok, this is something I guess everyone thought at least once in life. And I am equally certain that there was at least one moment when you thought "what a bullshit to say".
The master example is (popular) music. In the 80ies the 70ies were better, in the 90ies the 80ies were better and so on.

I was a teenage during the early 2000's and, guess what, everything was shit compared to the 80's.
Today under a Blink 182 (yeah, you read that right) video on YouTube I read the following comment with consequent responses:

Here we are. 2000's people worship the 90's. And you know, the background music was the American Pie-MTV -Nokia3310 -pop-punk that if you are my age makes you think about high school or college or unemployment or whatever you were doing in the late 90's without hope nor future and, well, I shed a tear. I had nonetheless the urge to write down this post.

Please stop with the past worshiping, I can't bear it anymore, in any field. Stop complaining about present social values or art products, comparing them to the past ones.
The only thing that probably got worse in the years is our planet "health" due to our misuse of fossil fuel and urbanization. But everything else is fucking better.
Your own life expectation has never been higher than in the present.

I am really pissed off that I can not even formulate a decent post without mumbling and bumbling right now.

Ok, I'll probably come back on this topic in the future, but be assured, 10 years ago I was much better at writing stuf... fuck!
